Get To Know Deven Herman PE

My name is Deven Herman and I bring over 19 years  of teaching experience, working with large groups of kids to create a fun,  dynamic, safe  setting. I've been a PE Teacher for 14 of those years working at a private school in Encinitas and part of the Thrive and Legacy homeschool community. I've run many camps, clinics, field days and for the last 6 years many kids events at my home church as the Kids Ministry Director.  I am an  approved vendor for Pacific Coast Academy, Cabrillo Point Academy, Elite, Excel, Springs, Julian, & Suncoast and accept charter funds. 

I am passionate about sports and leading a healthy lifestyle. My goal is to keep all kids moving, participating, and sweaty, in a fun, engaging way. I am a huge proponent of sportsmanship which will be a concept weaved into every PE class. My classes will be a safe space for kids of all ages and abilities to come and build some new skills and engage positively with their peers.

My husband and I have been married for 19 years and we have two boys, 10 & 15 and live in Encinitas. Some fun facts about me is that my favorite food is macaroni and cheese, I pole vaulted in college, and I LOVE to mow lawns.  My favorite football team is Buffalo Bills, and many years ago I tried out for Survivor by eating a whole cup of bugs that I collected but never received a call back! Oh, we have 3 cats, please don't judge me.
